Shelly Knight is a musician, broadcaster and educator with over 30 years experience in Austin's media and music scene. She is known among the rock community as one of the Austin Queens of Rock. As a singer/songwriter she fronts her rock band, Shelly Knight and the Livin' Dead. She is the female lead vocalist in the rockin' gospel project, part of Austin's counter culture phenomenon "Hippie Church." She performs with a local punk collective Old Punkers. She studied voice at Fricke School of Music in New Orleans. She also holds a B.A. from Texas State University.

Shelly has performed at iconic venues such as Threadgill's, Saxon Pub and The Backroom, as well as major events like the Pecan Street Festival, Republic of Texas Biker Rally and was an official SXSW artist. She has released 4 albums and had a top 20 hit in Scotland. Her music video for the song "Radio" won the Bronze Award for Best Music Video at the Houston International Festival.

Shelly is also a certified teacher with 17 years classroom experience in both Special Education/Early Childhood. In addition Shellys voice was heard for decades on Austin radio as a DJ on stations like Sun Radio, Majic 95, Mix 94.7, Z-Rock & 103.5 BOB FM.
