It is labeled as GA Fee on your invoice, which will be seen alongside the individual lesson charges.

Cash or checks (made payable to Austin School of Music) are also accepted.

We require payment on file prior to 1st lesson to confirm your trial lesson. After your first lesson, your account will be billed in full for the remainder of the month.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What ages and skill levels do you teach?

    • We teach ages 5 and up! All skill levels! If you want to learn how to make music or brush up on skills and take your music practice to the next level, we've got you covered!

  • What instruments do you teach?

    • We offer a wide variety of styles and instrumentation. At Austin School of Music, we have teachers on site and online that provide instruction on guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, voice, drums, brass, woodwind, accordion, mandolin, banjo, dobro, cello, violin, viola, stage presence, song writing, music theory and even the rain stick!

  • What styles/genres do you teach?

    • We've got guitar instructors that offer classical, rock, hard rock, metal, jazz, blues, sightreading, and more. Voice instruction is offered for pop, classical singing, heavy rock, metal and R&B. We offer jazz and rock drum lessons.

    • Are you a student that is interested in audition preparation? We can help!

  • Do I need to bring my own instruments?

    • We recommend students have their own instruments that they are comfortable/interested in learning on. It works in favor of the student to have an instrument that they can practice on at home each day so that their private lessons will really make an impact! If you have any questions on what kind of instrument would be best for the student, please ask our office staff or your teacher for recommendations! We are all very knowledgeable and ready to help you find the best fit for the student!

    • Guitar/Bass/Ukulele/Woodwind/Brass/String students will be required to bring their own instruments to lessons.

    • Piano and Drum students will have upright pianos and full drum sets available for use at the school. Drummers, please bring your own sticks.

  • How long should my lessons be?

    • We recommend starting with a 30 min lesson for beginner and intermediate students. 45 and 60 min lessons are available for advanced students or students wishing to take a more in depth approach to learning.

    • For students ages 5-7, we offer 15 min lessons to get them familiar with lesson structures.

  • How long until I’m a pro at my instrument?

    • With daily, and consistent practice, most kids and adults are able to play with basic proficiency within a year. We also offer advanced and professional level instruction. Many of our students have gone off to make their own albums and have or are currently playing with world famous artists!

  • What if I need to take a short break from weekly lessons?

    • We know that sometimes taking a short break is necessary in the busy world we live in today. Let your instructor know and send us an email so that we can make necessary billing arrangements. Students are required to submit a two week notice via email (or complete the form found HERE) and are financially responsible for the remaining two lessons.
