Samantha Luna
Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn), Piano

Sam quickly discovered her passion for the trumpet in the sixth grade and what began as a school activity quickly became a lifelong love of music and marching. She carried that passion through college, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Schreiner University.

During her time at Schreiner, she was involved with their jazz, pep, and concert bands. Sam performed with the CBDNA Intercollegiate Band in Tempe, Arizona, and contributed solo and ensemble support for university theater productions and campus events. She also pursued off-campus opportunities, performing with Kerrville’s Symphony of the Hills and in productions of Fauré’s Requiem with the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville. In addition, she worked as a marching and music technician with Tivy High School, where she was part of the staff during their achievement as area finalists.

Since graduating, Sam has taught private trumpet lessons and beginner piano to students of all skill levels in Castroville and Kerrville, helping middle and high school musicians grow in both confidence and technical skill. Now based in Austin, she is thrilled to continue sharing her love of music and inspiring students of all ages to find their unique musical spark.

Sam is especially passionate about building on each student’s strengths, setting and surpassing goals, and nurturing musicians who are not only skilled but confident and expressive.
