Not only is music in her blood, Austin music is in her blood. Anna was born and raised in ATX, the youngest granddaughter of two music business veterans. Her maternal grandfather was a PBS executive whose love of music spawned the longest running music television show in American history. Her maternal grandmother anchored the 1970's Austin piano bar scene. Seeing Anna's talent and hunger to conquer the piano at a young age, her grandmother started teaching her Beethoven and Bach when she was about five. After nine years of classical training, Anna begged her skeptical mom to let her tackle the violin at age 14; she exceled so quickly she ended up studying violin and history at the University of Texas at Austin. After playing for various symphonies throughout college and beyond, she had a hankering to diversify her talents and try out her wings. She began studying guitar and fell in love with songwriting. She moved to Nashville and honed her gigging skills, not only fronting her own band on guitar, but also touring as a violinist with several folk, rock and country artists. She's provided many an artist with violin and vocal tracks in the studio, and still loves recording her own music. An Austin School of Music teacher alum, Anna moved back to her hometown in 2020. She is beyond excited and proud to be back at ASM.
